SRT, VTT, TXT and CSV in one minute
- SRT is the oldest subtitle format: numbered cues with comma milliseconds. YouTube, VLC, Premiere and most players accept it.
- VTT (WebVTT) is the web standard used by HTML5 video, YouTube and most online players. Same idea, dot milliseconds and an optional header.
- TXT drops the timings and merges cues into readable paragraphs, which is what you want for an article or notes.
- CSV gives start, end, speaker and text columns for spreadsheets and analysis.
Frequently asked questions
Are timings changed during conversion?
No. Every cue keeps its start and end time to the millisecond. Only the notation changes.
What about speaker names and formatting tags?
A leading 'Name:' is kept as the speaker. HTML and VTT styling tags are stripped from the text.
Can I convert subtitles I don't have yet?
Yes: transcribe the video with Audiotexta and export SRT or VTT directly, with speaker labels and translation.
