How to transcribe a Google Meet recording
- Open Google Drive and go to My Drive → Meet Recordings (or use the link in the email Meet sends after the recording)
- Right-click the recording and choose Download
- Upload the MP4 in the box above
- Check the transcript, then download TXT, SRT or VTT
No recording? Use live captions
If your account can't record, or you don't want a file at all, the browser extension shows live captions inside Google Meet while the call runs. It doesn't add a bot to the meeting.
Whatever you use, let participants know the meeting is being recorded or transcribed.
Meeting notes AI can draft for you
With Pro, the transcript becomes a short summary, chapters and action items you can paste into a follow-up email. DOCX, PDF and Markdown exports suit shared drives and wikis, and translation helps teams that work across languages.
Recordings are never used to train models and are deleted after the retention period you choose.
